I offer one-to-one running coaching, which focuses on improving your individual running efficiency and pushes you out of your comfort zone, as well as group lessons which can be tailored for athletes of all abilities. Sessions are designed to build you up progressively, and will tackle the technical aspects of running most relevant to you, such as uphill/downhill running, cross country obstacles, endurance foundation, track tactics and many others. We will also look at technical aspects such as foot strike, cadence, arm drive, general posture and strength-and-conditioning. In between sessions, I encourage you to complete several 'homework runs', and am happy to set you a full plan for up to four weeks after the session.
I am currently a coach for Launceston Road runners, and have previously coached the highly-competitive 7 Aviation Support Battalion REME Cross Country Squad, who competed within both male and female divisions of the British Army Cross Country League, and the Junior Special Olympics Norfolk division, which included national representations. However, it's not all serious! I have also coached Couch-to-5k groups with the Royal Wootton Bassett Hounds and the Norwich City Football Club Community Sports Foundation's social running club. Such sessions have always been delivered at the club's choice of location, and I provide all the necessary equipment.
I'm fully DBS checked and experienced in coaching youth sports, and happy to take inquiries regarding coaching club sessions for athletes of any age, be it for a one-off session with a particular focus, or on an ongoing basis. I am also proud to offer guidance during competitive runs and training sessions for runners with visual impairments.
I cover the area of Devon and Cornwall, but am happy to take enquiries about and discuss coaching further afield.
