Gait Analysis
I specialise in gait analysis - but it's not all about shoes! I analyse an athlete's full running form to help runners run stronger, faster and longer, or just to remain injury-free. After any gait analysis, I build the athlete a full strength and conditioning programmes, to enable them to run to their individual strengths more efficiently. They also get detailed video feedback about their running, and check-ins throughout the 12-week programme afterwards - I don't ever expect someone to just take a programme and run with it themselves, full support is included.
Gait analysis can take place through good quality video footage, or at The RunSpace in Launceston, Cornwall. In this 45-60 minute appointment, I'll look at elements of your running form such as footstrike, knee drive, hip angle, core engagement, stride length, cadence, arm drive, posture and breathing. Or, if there's a specific injuries you're seeking to rectify, we can spend the time working on a programme just for that one element of your running gait.
And I say it's not all about shoes... but it can be about shoes, too! I have an excellent knowledge of running shoes through previous experience working at Runventure, where we stocked a wide variety of road and trail shoes and performed gait analysis and shoe fittings. Although I don't keep stock of shoes, I analyse your form, footstrike, and wear patterns on your old shoes to recommend a range of shoes - and where to buy them.
A gait analysis, with full strength and form feedback (12 week programme), and support throughout this programme, is £50.
